Данные тесты могут быть также использованы для проведения экзаменов по истории, культуре и искусству англоговорящих стран и олимпиад по английскому языку.

Пояснительная записка
Предлагаемое приложение к учебному пособию по истории, культуре и искусству Великобритании, Австралии и Новой Зеландии представляет собой систему тестового контроля знаний по предмету. Системой контроля предусматривается проведение тестирования по блокам тем, которая предполагает проверку обязательной подготовки и проверку на продвинутом уровне. При этом в материал контроля включаются только значимые вопросы из каждой темы.
Тесты состоят из двух частей: первая – задания, соответствующие базовому уровню, вторая – задания повышенной сложности, предполагающие не только изложение изученного материала на иностранном языке, но и изложение точки зрения и своего отношения к фактам. При этом выполнение заданий повышенной трудности не требует дополнительных знаний, выходящих за рамки программы.
Каждый тест рассчитан на 30-40 минут. Каждое правильно выполненное задание оценивается 1 баллом, неправильное – 0 баллов. Отдельные задания (например, задание 3 в тесте 1) оценивается 2 баллами.
Оценка выставляется следующим образом: например, наивысшее суммарное количество баллов, набранных учеником – 52.
«5» – 50-52 балла
«4» – 38-49 баллов
«3» – 33-37 баллов
«2» – менее 33 баллов
Ученик считается удовлетворительно сдавшим тест, если он выполнил 80-82% заданий правильно. Учитывая однотипность некоторых заданий, автор считает такую шкалу оценок оптимальной.
Опыт апробирования данных тестов позволил увидеть определенные преимущества в данной системе контроля, а именно:
- с помощью данных тестов можно проконтролировать большой объем материала;
- четкость и кратность установок-инструкций позволяет учащимся сосредоточиться на содержании;
- объективность оценки, складывающейся из суммы баллов;
- простота и быстрота проверки учителем (по ключу);
- селективность заданий, позволяющих выявить сильных и слабых учащихся;
- возможность легко определить очевидные пробелы в знаниях учащихся, подсчитать ошибки, проанализировать их.
Данные тесты могут быть также использованы для проведения экзаменов по истории, культуре и искусству англоговорящих стран и олимпиад по английскому языку.
